The Ampersand by The Word Bird
Let's all just take a moment to admire the beautiful curves of the ampersand.
As a typographical mark it dates back to Pompeii times when it was a joining together (a ligature) of the letters E and T meaning 'and'. The naming of it came later, around the late C18 when the symbol's definition was give as "and per se, and" which became 'ampersand'. Classical, interesting and lovely, this homage print is available as an A3 and is sold rolled in a tube. An original designed by Susan Brambell, The Word Bird.
